Hi I am Katie May Paterson. I am 24 years old and have worked in fashion for nearly six years. In that time I have worked in many roles and have gained valuable knowledge of the fashion trade and industry. I worked for Italian manufacturer of women’s designer fashion MaxMara Group dealing with shipments, queries and quality issues. I also worked for a wholesale designer and manufacturer of women’s footwear and dealt with the Dune™ range of shoes. My experience was further enhanced while working for Escada (U.K.) Ltd where I provided showroom support to the wholesale team this involved the preparation of sample collections and exhibitions. I worked on fashion shows choosing outfits and dressing models. I also dealt with publicity campaigns, which involved selecting pieces from our collections to be used in photo shoots for magazines such as “Vogue” and “Harpers”. My claim to fame is that I was involved in the relaunch of Escada’s flagship store on Sloane Street in London. I spent some time working for Hunts of London a men’s and women’s wholesale fashion agency specializing in suiting. Here I liaised between the wholesale customers and Hunt’s manufacturing office in Portugal, one of their biggest clients being Aquascutum. During my time with Hunts I was privileged to attend London Fashion Week a fantastic experience in itself giving me a greater understanding of the way the fashion industry works.
